I do not think I am a good language learner because I am lazy and I can't concentrate properly when I read an English text. I think that my main problem is unwillingness to learn basic grammar rules.

Besides, I don't listen to audiobooks, so I have poor listening comprehension skills. My teacher says that I should watch more films in English but I really don't have time for it due to my busy work schedule and I sometimes regret it. When I try to say something in English, I feel very ashamed of my strong russian accent, so I prefer to keep quiet when my classmates discuss an interesting subject in a foreign language. I guess, I should consult a Russian-English dictionary more often in order to improve my vocabulary and communication skills. Besides, I should start pacticing my English by chatting with native speakers via Skype of Facebook. Most of my friends find this way of learning to be very interesting and helpful.

При изучении иностранного языка также не следует забывать о творческом подходе к процессу. Тогда занятия станут интересными и приобретут оттенок игры. Если вы начали изучать иностранный язык самостоятельно, то одна из главных задач для вас — выучить как можно больше иностранных слов за короткий период времени.

Очень действенный метод — запоминание песен и стихов на иностранном языке (в рифму слова запоминаются гораздо лучше, чем по отдельности).

1. Выберите несколько любимых песен и найдите в интернете их тексты в оригинальном варианте, а также перевод этих текстов на русский язык. 2.Выпишите незнакомые слова и перевод каждого из них. 3. Включите музыку и слушайте песню несколько раз подряд. При этом постарайтесь запомнить несколько куплетов. Это поможет вам не только запомнить новые слова, но и улучшить произношение, «почувствовать» иностранный язык.

Всегда покупайте учебники, к которым прилагаются аудиоматериалы. При изучении новых текстов нужно сначала прочитать текст самостоятельно, а затем прослушать его несколько раз. Это тоже поможет улучшить произношение.

Если у вас начальный уровень и вы хотите выучить названия предметов на иностранном языке, советую сделать таблички из разноцветной бумаги, написать на них названия предметов и прикрепить каждую табличку к соответствующему предмету. Например, прикрепить на зеркало надпись «mirror», на стул надпись «chair» и т.д. Это поможет вам научиться четко ассоциировать конкретный предмет с его обозначением на иностранном языке.
